Terrific Place To Work

Pros

Great co-wokers, investment into developing people, and a friendly culture all make Baker Tilly a great fit for me personally.

Cons

The one thing that really gets me is that I'm stuck using a computer monitor from what feels like 2005. Believe I'm paid a little less than other staff accountants at larger firms but I'd maintain that's because I have less put on me.

Pros

The people are what really drew me to Baker Tilly but the flexible work arrangements, competitive pay, focus on work/life balance and robust training programs, lots of one-on-one interactions with managers & partners is what has kept me here.

Cons

Company communication as a whole could be stronger, sometimes you feel a little left in the dark or that there are a lot of things kept hush hush from employees.

Pros

Pay and benefits are comparable to larger firms Flex time is possible Baker Tilly's international reach is helpful as a resource and opportunity Advisory/consulting practice is strong

Cons

Still suffering "growing pains" from absorbing smaller firms; managers tend to cluster with the colleagues from their old firms and not reach out to build relationships Timely, specific and actionable feedback is hard to get -- too many managers depend on the annual review process for virtually all feedback Awkward size of office -- too big to foster real collegiality, but not big enough to have multiple staffers working on similar engagements. If you are assigned a senior or manager who is helpful, then you'll be OK, but if you aren't, then you really have no one else to go to for help.
