Pros

Not a lot to say about pros. Nice office (because they bought Barclays Global Investors).

Cons

Lots of cons: boiler room environment where they'll work you long hours with little perks, management has cheap mentality even when company is hugely profitable, almost everyone worships (or appear to worship) Larry Fink (CEO) - in some meetings there's a poster of Larry Fink, which reminds me the North Korean dictator. They might have a good reputation of being the biggest asset manager but it's an awful place to work . Arrogant people - they think they're the best even though they're far from it.

Pros

SF office is better than working in the depressing NYC office

Cons

Working on the investment side of the house may be fine but the support functions are dysfunctional and amazingly immature for an organization of its size.

Pros

Working with smart people, collegiate environment, perfect for those right of college, challenging work, and looks good on your resume.

Cons

Long hours, too much expectation for low pay, more of who you know-to get promoted. Churn and burn type of environment. The work load is too intense at times and still you're expected to do more. The inability for managers to see the value you've added, focusing too much on the impossible. No COLA, impossible pay increases unless you get promoted.
