Pros

unlimited days off. work life balance.

Cons

Every perk has a downfall. you can have work life balance but then you won't get anywhere. You get paid and promoted on your political and networking skills. They say diversity is everything but they don't know how to treat you if you are not a certain mold and match your boss. A certain type is critical. You need a senior sponsor to pull you up through the ranks, otherwise you will stay where you are forever.

Pros

Flexible time off, good work/life balance, brand new office

Cons

Promotion can happen only once per year after 18 months you are in the same position. The process is not transparent. Even though you might have all the skills for stepping up to your next role within your team, you need to wait a couple of years as there are already people waiting before you. I saw few exceptions and those were based on internal politics. Internal mobility is not supported if you want to move to a higher role. During the promotion process they consider only the experience gained with BlackRock. For instance a person who started his/her career at BlackRock and spent there 6 years has higher chance to be promoted compared to someone who has 10 years of experience outside BlackRock and only 2 with BlackRock.

Pros

I love the Midtown location and the proximity to Ponce City Market and the Atlanta Belt Line. The office is brand new with lots of collaborative space and accommodations for every employee. From an ethnic lens, the iHub is more visibly diverse than other offices and there are several employee networks or resource groups that have created a sense of belonging among like groups of employees. There's a huge commitment to the firm's purpose across every area of the business and leaders are incredibly philanthropic. There's frequent communications from senior leadership about the firm, the market, and the role employees play in all of it as well which is great. Mental and emotional health is prioritized by leadership and the benefits are stellar all around, especially ! It definitely feels like a safe place to be yourself and I am able to take my full self to work -- natural hair, nose piercings, tattoos and all. As a woman of color I don't feel like I have to cover and that alone makes the experience that much sweeter given the environment I transitioned from.

Cons

I don't like having to pay over $100/mo for parking to come to work.
