Pros

Profitable company with not many pros.

Cons

Favoritism is on another level. The Aladdin business is rotten to its core. Good luck working there.

Pros

A brand name and well known - not necessarily for the right reasons.

Cons

Management does not care about individual performance and everyone is disposable. Think very carefully before joining. Complete lack of accountability and very top heavy organization.

Pros

Everybody here is super nice There is a huge emphasis on working as a team and collectively. High performance culture. Great CV impact and exit opportunities. Big business so there are actually loads of opportunities if you have time and patience. Amazing networking opportunities. Loads of fun and charitable events (can depend on business). Front of the industry, so you can be working on some pretty innovative stuff. Very diverse work place, in almost all regions (some of them, e.g.: Paris, less than others)

Cons

The technology is shockingly poor for a firm with a SaaS part of the business. It is an absolute political nightmare. Full or reorganisations and restructurings to highlight people management likes and push out people they don’t. Management are manipulative. Everything is buzzwords and corporate Kool-aid. Most people under MD are left completely in the dark about most things (particularly comp) so that they can more effectively control you. Much longer hours than your compensation would indicate. A lot of the stress you’ll feel will be for things that ultimately aren’t that big of a deal, it’s just some senior person wanted it for some reason that will never be made clear to you. As a graduate, you will be told absolutely nothing about the role you’re entering until you’re already there. If the company messed up putting you somewhere you shouldn’t be; it is on you to get out of there or figure out how to perform. The amount of formal training you get is minimal and if your management isn’t good there will be 0 plan for your career. The company has a terrible perception with the general public, so don’t even bother telling general people (i.e.: non-finance) where you work. Limited work flexibility (4-1 structure with rumours of 5 days in the office). The people who succeed here a maniacs who live for this job. Sometimes you’d think you’re at an investment bank rather than an investment manager with how much they dedicate themselves to it. It’s shocking.
