Pros

I used to work for logica which had it's flaws, but was ultimately a fun environment which encouraged independence and initiative. There are still some people left in CGI who have the logica mentality. However a lot of them have moved on to greener pastures. There is no reason to consider CGI as an employer.

Cons

CGI is a gigantic bureaucracy with new regulations being released on a weekly basis. Every single of them introduces new forms and approval processes for every small step of daily business. Despite the official PR, CGI is looking more for subjects rather than for independant employees. In addition, the huge number of approval processes are being backed by the worst internal tools I have ever seen. All reporting tasks (and there are numerous) are being made extremely tiresome by the internal PSA system. Databases behind the webinterface are often out of sync and lose data.

Pros

It'a paycheck and nothing more to me. It's really difficult to list pros for this Company except acknowledging the only pro is the meager amount the company pays because it's better than nothing!

Cons

I've read many of the positive reviews on here and I am astounded because the CGI federal being described is not the same company I work for. My experience is contrary to many of the posts here mainly by people who work at the HQ In Virginia. It seems as if a position with CGI federal may not be too bad if you work at the headquarter. If you are offer a job with CGI relating to Passports duties in a non HQ location, my advice would be to run, run, run and never look back. The world of passport is not for the weak at heart. The pay is minimal to say the least and exceptionally high turn over rate. Incompetent people are promoted to management(might explain the Healthcare.gov debacle), managers, supervisors are not working in the best interests of the employees(Remember, no one is on your side). Hard work doesn't pay off here or recognized, so don't waste time going above and beyond seeking recognition, you will surely be disappointed. Pay raises are in cents( I am not being sarcastic) and no room for growth. Keep your complaints and constructive criticism to yourself because supervisors don't care and if you are African American, good luck on moving up the management ladder.

Pros

You can work from home sometimes

Cons

Benefits are drastically changing. You will have to pay $3500 up front before insurance even kicks in. CGI now is basically refusing to give decent health coverage to employees -- they basically want you to come up with your own so they won't have to pay their portion. You will probably only receive two raises in the whole time you are employed unless you brown nose and kiss tail. Your reviews will be negative -- they will blame you for things such as DVD/CD ROME drives failing or hard drives crashing.
