Pros

Challenging Projects Good Tech Stack Chance of getting good colleagues

Cons

Worst Performance Management System. (Political, zero work life balance, love splitting hair analysis and will squeeze every minute of your life to get that. if you are not in your manager/skips good book he/she wont let you switch switch teams, keep you stagnant at your position for multiple years, provide minor/no increase annual salary, they mask firing by putting people in coaching plans, giving them below strong rating - making the place too difficult to survive in. absolutely toxic - wouldnt work here for a billion dollars

Pros

While I worked at Capital One, my team was super helpful and collaborative, there were lots of ways to get involved outside of my day-to-day, and WLB was great. Pay was less than FAANG but still pretty solid.

Cons

Stacked ranking is killing the company, especially when leadership makes poor decisions and has to change the amount of poor performers from 8% to 20% as an excuse to lay people off. WLB is definitely team dependent, and performance reviews often come down to who you know, how well your manager can vouch for you, and how hard the other people on your level work.

Pros

The benefits and time off are great but good luck using them.

Cons

Employees are constantly overworked. Bad managers across the enterprise. You’re lucky if you find a good one. They would rather hire useless managers than more folks to actually do the work. We’re always short staffed and given more work than could possibly get done in a 40 hour work week. The only pro was still working from home after 3 years, but now that’s changed. We’re now expected to go back into the office 3 days per week after being given only a month’s notice. This change will be a pay cut for most of us with the rise of inflation and now adding commuting cost. Our little 4% annual increases hardly help. Work/life balance is now gone and they’ve made it clear they will be checking badge swipes. We will lose more people but the work will stay the same. Those left will suffer. Avoid this company at all costs.
