      Uptight and Uncomfortable Environment

      Pros

      Solid reputation in the commercial insurance field. A good resume builder in most areas of commercial underwriting.

      Cons

      Top-down management approach. A culture of fear. Communication from above sucks. Lots of extraordinarily inefficient and time-consuming administrative work. Disjointed information systems. Competition between different business units for the same business (YIKES!!). So many people seem to drink the Kool-Aid in this company, and the most likely explanation for this is fear. There are many redundant business units in certain areas as a result of the 2015 acquisition by ACE, and many employees are still worried about job performance and security because of this.

      Ok benefits though you have to be there at end of year to get 401k matching.

      Cons

      Huge amount of favoritism and ageism as far as promotional opportunities and bonus/salary increases. Arrogant management just trying to keep their spots by putting down others.
