Pros

At least you get paid

Cons

The most incompetent management I have ever dealt with. They will send out a company wide email saying one thing, send another email a few minutes later and then the next day saying a third completely different thing. They have no idea what they are doing, and all they care about is making their year end review look good so they can get the best bonus possible. This leads to people in management creating unnecessary changes that only make your job harder just so they could say they did something. There is not near enough adjusters working here. Everyone is drowning in tasks and our managers response is to ask us to stay later or come in early to work. Keep in mind this isnt just one or two adjusters struggling. Its the entire department. I think right now there are about 12-13 of us here. 4 of us are planning to leave very soon and another 5-6 are taking interviews elsewhere. No one wants to work for this company. Dont be fooled by the Chubb name. This is an inferior company named ACE with a Chubb sticker over the dumpster fire that is this company.

Pros

coworkers are in the same boat as you, sad, over worked, underpaid. only positive is that you have people to vent to.

Cons

Turnover is so high, you get slammed with the work of people who left, and then it takes 3 months of training to get a new employee up and running. bte the training is BS and a waste of time. i learned more from asking my coworkers for help than i did from the training. They pay awful, but if you are a son or daughter of upper management, you get paid more than anyone in the entire department so figure that one out. They are one of the lowest paying employers in the industry from what ive seen, they treat their employees poorly. the list goes on.

Pros

-Work from Home option 2 to 3 days a week -Flexible working hours -Extremely talented project teams -Close to union station

Cons

-A lot of favoritism in the IT department. Employees with very little experience are promoted every year while the experienced talented staff is getting demoted ( or as they would call it restructuring). Promotions are based on CIOs favorites and all loud Ryerson/Wilfred Laurier grads are becoming supervisors here. -No recognition for efforts you put in. -Politics in IT department is off the roof. If you socialize and befriend the right people , you can go places here as talent really has no significance. -Micromanagement in each step you perform in the project. -Project Strategy keeps changing every day and its very hard for project teams to realign and work with changes everyday. Projects are brought back in scope and then put on hold very often. -No respect for the people they hire. Management hires and fires people before even seeing their potential. -Absolutely no diversity on the floor. -As some other people have mentioned in their review, it is true that CIO is definitely the reason for a lot of people leaving. Very bad attitude and a very bad example of leadership. -Management engages in a lot of gossip and bad mouthing employees behind their backs.
