      Pros

      Cisco offers a flexible work environment based on what I view as three tenets - integrity, trust, and excellence. The focus on the customer's success leads to Cisco's success. Cisco has the resources to meet the needs of extremely large programs and projects which small companies can't even fathom.

      Cons

      Cisco develops a lot of different technologies and they are organized in a manner to facilitate leadership in each of those domains; however, collaboration between those technical domains can be a challenge. Cisco is not and can't be as nimble as a startup; however, there are pockets of technical leadership where latitude is given to perform research, experimentation, and rapid development. Find the right team.

      Pros

      Great opportunities to grow and learn. Direct access to lots of sharp, talented and highly motivated people. High level of autonomy -- as long as the job gets done you can work almost anywhere and anytime that's convenient for you.

      Cons

      It can be a very fast paced and demanding environment. It can be difficult to keep up without burning out. Working through internal process can be cumbersome and frustrating

      - there are good benefits, including a good daycare - culture of open communication - friendly and challenging work environment

      Cons

      - promotions are slow to come - stock keeps going down or stays low - projects move slowly due to large siloed systems. takes a long time to bring alignment amongst groups in order to move a project forward.
