Citigroup is history

Pros

At this point there are no good reasons to work at Citigroup. Management has destroyed the value that the name once may have had, so one is better off focusing on the better quality of experience available elsewhere.

Cons

Office politics, huge egos masking managerial incompetence . . . yet rarely exposed because senior management only respected information received through the heirarchy and universally considered it beneath them to listen. Everyone managed up.

Pros

Gives you an opportunity to be around financial advisors and learn about investment management.

Cons

You will have to do boring intern work in order to potentially be given an offer to work as an analyst.

Pros

Brand, develop talent their way, but has proven to work, but you must be able to be flexible and be able to adapt.

Cons

It can be very old style and hierarchial and control heavy, but there are many reasons why that is appropriate too.
