Pros

- Global reach. Citi's size creates specializaed functions that enables you to develope skills that are critical to the function. - Advancement potential. Most positions are what you make of them. Should you choose to excel and go after projects/improvements you can have an impact and advance yourself. - Some very smart people. Most divisions have a great culture.

Cons

- Always in the regulator's scope and the public eye. - In recent years, a very fluid organization. - Specilized functions. If you or your funciton is moved out, no longer needed or otherwise superflous you will be at risk unless you diversify your skillset.

Pros

Working in Tech Finance, they are really big on work-life balance. It is flexible and you do learn a lot.

Cons

Management is condecending and they are not as sharp as you expect upper management to be. You expect a lot of communication and mentoring from a company of this size but there is NONE. A lot of politics involved in this organization and you can tell that at Citi a lot of the things that happen are based on favoritsm and who knows who.

Pros

Large organization with many different career paths. Decent benefits. Flexible work schedules (but only to accommodate all of the nights/weekends/holidays you'll be working). Depending on your management, they may recognize you for going above and beyond...

Cons

Long hours. Poor middle and senior management. Very few leaders in the right positions. Hiring under qualified individuals for critical positions, which leads to additional responsibilities for those with ability. No understanding of project scoping... If you loose resources and/or new initiative come on line, managers must convey those circumstances to the customers and reset expectations... Otherwise, people leave in droves.... Management gets too wrapped up in politics, which causes delays and issues with projects...
