There are very toxic leaders in that company that create a dangerous environment. Statements like "Do more with less", "we need to Apollo 13 this", and "burn the ships" are frequently used to stress that everything is prioritized, regardless of what it takes. The expectation is that you work endless days to make things happen, regardless of workstaff, timing or personal health. If you fail to meet these expectations, you are not showing the "Dish way". There are some truly amazing leaders there, but they either leave to find better companies or are not empowered because they truly care about their employees. This stems from the top, and drives the way that senior leaders are selected. If you can "Crack the whip", then you'll be a good leader there. Also, female leadership is in very short supply there. It is a true boys club, and the only female leaders there prove that they can Crack the whip with the boys. The Director I last worked for ran off every single female senor manager under him in a matter of months. Truly disgraceful.
