Pros

- Competitive pay for the area - Free satellite TV service

Cons

- Call center dress code that only allows jeans and hoodies to be worn on special occasions. - Management that insists there is nothing wrong and that articles published recently referencing glassdoor are skewed and basically worthless. Basic refusal to recognize internal problems and total apathy towards fixing them. Basic culture of management is one of bullying and "good-ole-boy" relationships. - Micro-managed down to how many slices of pizza you're allowed at a "pizza party" reward lunch (I did mention a high-school atmosphere, didn't I?) Dish loves rules for the sake of having rules. - Disproportionate pay scales from department to department. My current position requires more expertise and accuracy than anyone taking phone calls, yet I don't get paid nearly as much and have no opportunity for the "pay-for-performance" that Joe Clayton so prides himself and the company on. - Horrible benefits - "Snow days" are only declared excusable weeks after the fact, leaving you to decide whether your life or getting to work is more important. Potentially you could be held accountable for not coming in when there is an inch of ice on the roads, but you'll never know until you're actually in trouble for it! - Lots of mandatory overtime with very little emphasis on appreciation or accommodation. You might get a balloon or some popcorn. - Almost impossible to take advantage of travel opportunities, as you must pay out of pocket for all expenses and then be reimbursed later. - Recurring payroll errors in which pay-for-performance bonuses don't get paid out. - Filthy working conditions. Carpet is full of hazardous lumps/bunches, cubicles are left to employees to clean (meaning they never get cleaned since desks are regularly changed), smoking area 20 feet from main entrance to ensure maximum second-hand smoke exposure, and the list goes on.

Pros

I have been with Dish for 8 1/2 years now and I have seen the company change and go in many directions and have been in several sites each one being different. I have a great manager who always backs me up and tells us how well we are doing but at the same time gives us an ear full when we need it. I enjoy coming into work on a daily basis and have a great working relationship with those i work with. We have a positive working environment and have fun when we are working which makes our agents more happy which trickles down to our customer service/tech support as well. Dish does give many incentives for those agents that are doing their job correctly they give prizes and money plus coaches and managers can run their own incentives to motivate their team to do better and improve morale. I have worked many different schedules and have had many teams dismantled but i understand that is the nature of the business and things are always changing no matter where you are. I have a management staff that understands we are all people and have personal lives and hey sometimes things happen they are always involved with that and always in the loop and really care about us as people which is hard to find with other companies. But I see it as you work for your Manager not the company so if you have a manager that you get along with you will fight to get them what they want vs a manager who doesn’t care about you.

Cons

I live very far from work i have to drive about an hour daily so I wish we had another location on the west side of town. It would be nice to be closed on major holidays like other providers are My spouse works for Cox Communications and he is off every major holiday. It is hard to properly develop agents when we are not able to pull for aux or our aux gets cancelled so our development session is not completed.

Pros

I started in a dept. that I normally wouldn't have and would like to move into another dept. My manager is very supportive in helping me achieve my goal. I have also been able to learn a lot here and be able to speak with different depts. to gain knowledge. Don't complain if you don't have the drive to better yourself, change is inevitable.

Cons

Pay is not the greatest and benefits aren't either. While trying to move to other depts. like Marketing, they want a perfect canidate and are not wiling to train at all. You can always learn new skills, you can't learn personality, drive and passion.
