Pros

I ve read a lot of bad reviews and I wonder why...I think it all just depends on your team and manager. Working in the IT department isnt as bad.. 1. Opportunity to work on some major projects and make an impact 2. Great people around you always willing to help out 3. Open door policy - you can directly go one or two levels above you and talk about something if you have to..they will listen 4. Company invests in growth and infrastructure, so its good that you get to work on the latest technology and not outdated ones 5. Free satellite TV package with premium movie channels

Cons

1. Pay is average, benefits are poor - there isnt much incentive to stay here long term 2. Company is quite rigid with work schedules, no flex hours or work from home policy 3. Sometimes, employees are just treated as material resources (especially by PMs who only care about getting their project done no matter what it takes)

Pros

Dish would be a great fit for anyone that believes in merit based rewards and recognition, enjoys meeting and /or interacting with exciting and new people daily, and strives for perfection in all tasks and endeavors embarked upon. Dish offers great opportunities for advancement in one's chosen career path as well as laterally within the organization. Since Dish has installation offices nation wide one may be able to transfer locations for advancement or based on personal desires. Dish strives to stay on the cutting edge of technology and often is the leader in new technologies in their industry. Employee benefits are on par with other Fortune 200 companies.

Cons

While being a great company to work for Dish has a corporate culture that permeates to the lowest level in the organization. Anyone going into the company should be fully aware that that type of culture exists and thereby should not find any surprises during their tenure.

Pros

Challenging environment, growth opportunities, & great team cohesion. I hadn't been with the company barely 2 months before I was presenting to EVPs. The managers/directors/VPs I report to often ask for my opinion when it comes time to make a decision and they don't feel they always have to be the one who came up with the idea. Working for Dish challenges me on a daily basis and I feel that I learn something new everyday. Not long after I started at the company I received an offer from another organization that paid significantly more but I didn't hesitate to turn it down because the experience and on the job education I receive at Dish are priceless. Joe Clayton is a visionary leader and it's obvious when he speaks that he cares about his employees.

Cons

Although there is great cohesion within teams there seems to be a disconnect between teams sometimes. It's not uncommon to hear the frustration in the voice of a person from another team when you request their help.
