      All stick and no carrot

      Pros

      They provide Free TV, but you have to rent their equipment.

      Cons

      Never have I worked for a company that worked so hard to convey their utter disdain for their employees. When the pandemic hit, they laid off their employees with 15+ years of experience with only a week's pay, and then posted their jobs a few weeks later. Their culture is based on fear and intimidation. Their policies are in line with their complete distrust of their employees from rigidly enforced core hours, inflexibility towards employees who get injured or sick, and travel policy that requires you to share hotel rooms and provide receipts for every penny spent. In 7 years, I've seen many more people fired than I have promoted.

      - Paycheck - Cafeteria on-site - HQ location - Swag sometimes

      Cons

      - Terrible Management - Zero available help from co-workers when getting started, no "teamwork" - Management purposefully stresses employees to see "how they respond" - No solid structure to some departments and very little information on the day-to-day work that needs to be done - Some Managers hired with zero experience in the field or in Managing employees - They annually cull employees and truly believe it is a good thing to just hire and fire annually for no worthwhile reason other than it saves them money and they believe those employees are the "bottom tier" - Customers absolutely hate Dish which makes it hard to feel good about working for a company that employees and customers both hate

      Dish was great for years, but stay far away if you want to be treated like a professional adult

      Pros

      Solid company financially speaking. You won't wonder if you'll get paid each payday. Yearly 401k profit sharing.

      Cons

      Salaried employees are monitored via a badging system to ensure they are in the office by 9am and leave after 4pm. If you violate this policy more than 3x, you can be fired. Horrible pay raises Benefits are not good A vast number of employees feel expendable, overworked, underpaid and undervalued.
