Pros

Some of the people are good to work with

Cons

No direction from anyone, no true lead on the projects Too many people going in too many directions A lot of wasted time working on things for the projects that were never used They treat their people terribly Some managers should not have that title, or their job Benefits are the worst I have ever had No salary negotiation, take it or leave it Positive Covid cases in the building weekly Wasted talent not being moved up or into current openings

Pros

- You get to work with some talented folks - The 'misery loves company' adage fosters camaraderie amongst employees - 'The biggest benefit at Dish is opportunity': This is actually true, and a company of Dish's size provides the ability to move to a variety of different areas within the same organization. However, not a great endorsement of the actual health benefits that are well below average.

Cons

- HR constantly harps on improving culture, yet doesn't listen to employee feedback on how to do so. The opinion surveys on company policies aren't to implement change, but rather to inform HR of the biggest objections so they can continue to provide lip service without any real improvement. - Draconian workplace rules ruin any pros at this company. HR consistently harps on improving culture while nothing meaningful changes. - Example: Badging into the office at 8:59am is perfectly acceptable, but badging in at 9:00am and you are on the naughty report that prevents merit increases and career advancement. Depending on your role and manager, it doesn't matter if your car breaks down, you have sick children, etc. Be in by 9am or you pay the price. You are treated as a number here. - While Charlie's severely outdated employment practices are the biggest issue that trickle down to all areas of business, the most 'senior' (in tenure only) employees keep the Orwellian leadership style alive and well.

Pros

-DISH is a company willing to take on risks and make pivots as needed to remain a leading company. This can be exciting and brings many new and challenging projects to work on. -Depending on the team and management of your group, you can have lots of direct ownership and impact on your projects. -DISH has significantly improved customer relations and have won JD Power among all Telecom. companies for 3 years running.

Cons

-C-Suite leadership is very controlling of all financial decisions including hiring (even for entry level positions). DISH can be THE example of bureaucratic challenges stemming from our senior leaders. -If you care about flexible working locations/hours, look elsewhere. DISH is stuck in the 80's with our in-office policies and overall lack of trust in the employee to accomplish the work without corporate oversight. -Overall, the C-Suite views most employees as cogs in the system. HR claims to care about employees but most actions make it abundantly clear that on the whole, we're viewed as cogs that can easily be replaced if needed.
