Pros

Room to grow within if you perform well, company events with good food, excellent cafeteria (my favorite part)

Cons

Ridiculously overdone Classroom training, not enough hands on training, newbies tend to get the worst schedules because they don’t have as much time on the phones (I had to work Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years eve and New Year’s Day), horrible attendance policy that kept getting worse! If your sick or late you get points and they add up but they stay with you for a year! Mandatory overtime (sometimes this was a plus). No matter how hard you work or how many extra hours you put in, how quickly you were promoted, etc; They will always treat you like you’re disposable. They don’t care. Especially when I was pregnant and sick. They even took all but about $40 of my final check for “borrowed PTO”, but you didn’t even get a choice, if your weren’t there for your shift because your sick or anything else, it counts as PTO.

Pros

Some great people trapped in a dystopian corporate hellscape

Cons

Enormous pressure based on artificial deadlines. The team I work on has experienced turn over of at least 80% but instead of fixing anything they just push the remaining developers until they themselves quit. The only people who have not left are only there because either they do nothing and in a climate of constant chaos expectations are low or they require continued employment to maintain a visa status. The benefits are crap and as a new hire, they will not give you ANY benefits for 60 days. They will also attempt to trick you by saying that the downtown office is different but that is not at all true as it falls under the same horrible corporate structure. Working for Dish was the worst mistake of my career and I would not wish it on anyone.

Pros

I had a great team that I trained with - they were all highly competent individuals and much fun to train with. Unfortunately - from a team of about 18 there are only 3 left....harsh tactics, unobtainable metrics drove even the best employees away.

Cons

Micro management and a pyramid type "scheme" outsourcing their insuance and benefits, not disclosing the sales involved and not being truthful about how long training actually takes - ONE YEAR - no quality of life and constant berating from supervisors who are quite nice but being berated by their supervisors and so on and so forth.
