      Pros

      Compensation is awesome. Dell does a lot to work to retain talent and keep employees fairly compensated. Dell also is a very progressive company with respect to technology, so working in IT is an awesome place to learn new technology and be on the cutting edge.

      Cons

      Management is completely disconnected from the real problems, and issues within the company. The continual atmospere of cost cutting and job loss as completely killed all communication between IC and Manager. This means uninformed best guess decision making is taking place all throughout the company, and one bad decision after another is coming down the pipe. This happens in day to day work, and in senior ELT decisions. The entire communication chain is broken down.

      Pros

      Name reputation and experience with mega-large company. It's had a great legacy and continues to offer good, solid products. There is a a continued focus on being the lowest cost provider which helps win/maintain market share. The customer facing side of Dell's sales group is great, support is catching up and overall customers are pretty happy

      Cons

      Dell grew very fast and was the darling of The Street. The growth was so fast and little attention or investment in systems or processes that as the company grew it needed more and more people to complete simple processes because they were manually intensive. The lack of IT and process design, as well as limited investment in packaged software leaves Dell with island of IT automation which makes work extra cumbersome and processes subject to breaking

      Pros

      Certain areas of Dell provide great job flexibility. If proven, you can easily have a job that is self-directed and provides a great degree of autonomy. Another benefit of Dell is that it is a highly technical place to work. Dell is proactive and quick in adopting new technology that provides benefit. It is also a company that is not afraid to try something new. As a result, Dell is a fast paced environment. Change is the norm for this company and it's day-to-day operations. It's an ever changing environment.

      Lack of job security. Lack of interest in the employees.
