Pros

Average pay; 23 days PTO; big projects for personal growth; good opportunities

Cons

No work life balance at all; Office politics; Wont have time to use your PTO cause you are always busy. Busy season is super long (more than 8 months); expensive health care; low match to 401K 24 cents to $1 up to 6%; you are expected to work when you are sick and running a favor; low dinner budget for overtime working

Pros

Great experience on your CV High profile clients Great bunch of grads, analysts, EAs and senior analysts Work from home flexibility for senior level of staff

Cons

Resourcing is an absolute joke - resourcing partners/HR couldn't organise a party in a night club. If you are an experienced professional joining, be prepared to be put on jobs where you are doing analyst/senior analyst work because there simply aren't enough people to get the job done. And yes, they will make it seem like it is your problem, so just get on with it! Office politics is rife and the culture is really bad - any recruiter outside of Deloitte will tell you how high the staff turnover has been recently. If you aren't giving your soul to the partners and working 12 hour days, you won't get anywhere. Pay is less than any of the other big 4 firms. Deloitte only cares about their image so they can win new business and bring in new talent (although the grads dont last very long). The drives they have for mental health and well-being etc. are just a PR exercise. If Deloitte really focused on their staff, the turnover rates would be lower. There is no day-to-day effort in terms of employee happiness at all but rather strategically placed initiatives to give everyone the image that they care. They don't... As a more senior level joiner, it was evident from day 1 that there is a click and if you aren't apart of the gang then good luck. I have worked at Deloitte in multiple different cities around the world and had great experiences until I got to Australia. If you are thinking of joining, I would seriously consider other big 4 offices in Sydney. Thank u, next!
