      Pros

      Training opportunities aren't just about your functional capability, and they actually try to help you grow as a professional. Variety of work can be great. Brand name is reasonably well-respected in the marketplace. Deloitte is relatively ethical in the sales process.

      Cons

      Review processes can sometimes be too arbitrary (lots of bell-curving going on) and feedback is too infrequent. Partner self-interest always wins out in the end, both at a personal and institutional level. Good people leave and bad ones seems to stick around. Firm has a feast-or-famine approach to investment, hiring and practice development. Go nuts in the good times, but cut to the bone in bad times.

      Pros

      Excellent training programs, hands-on learning, extra perks (occasional gift certificate awards, extra summer days off, etc). Great opportunity to get your CPA as classes are paid for and time off given to take the CPA exam.

      Cons

      Unpredictability of work hours. For the most part, you know you'll be busy from January-March working 55 minimum hours a week. Depending on what client you are on, you could work anywhere from 55 hours during busy season to 75. Situation can vary based on the attitudes of management team on your engagement.
