Pros
The best reason to work for Deloitte is the people. I worked in a smaller group of people, most of whom were attorneys. Senior management had a very open door policy with all employees and everyone seemed to get along - or at least didn't allow personal differences to interfere with their ability to work with one another. Management was open to employees trying out different areas of tax and experimenting with other groups. Training was very comprehensive and encouraged by management. Anyone entering Deloitte without a prior background in pubic accounting would benefit from the training opportunities available. Tuition reimbursement is also a plus.
Cons
As an attorney, working in public accounting can be difficult at times. There is often a difference of opinion among attorneys and accountants. However, as someone who had a public accounting background prior to entering law school I was often able to see both sides and work around any differences. As an intern there was a lot of training, much of which was not needed for the work I was doing within my group. However, it was very comprehensive and would be beneficial for anyone working in the larger groups or those in college without any prior public accounting experience.
