Pros

Working here is great for the resume and if you're straight out of college, most of your co-workers are young so it can be a fun place to be. People are generally pretty motivated, have common sense, and social. There are a lot of smart/accomplished people in management and are resources for knowledge and developing contacts. Deloitte encourages you to use your vacation days and they also participate in community activities like Impact Day which is good.

Cons

The hours can be long. Sometimes while at a client, it's Friday and you're ready to go home, someone will ask you to do something at the end of day which you know will take you several hours to complete. There is a culture of always being a "yes" man, so if you care about your reputation and career, you have to say yes and get it done. Once you make management, it's great to have staff with that attitude, but when you're the staff it sucks at times. Pay is not the greatest. You hear people leaving the firm and getting huge pay bumps or there are people outside of the Big 4 in private who are doing the same thing you do but making more and working less hours. You always have to remind yourself that you're not there for the money and that the paycheck/reward will come later.

Pros

Reputation, brand, regular training, staff is talented, nice offices, project can be decent but that is highly variable depending on the engagement. I chose Deloitte because they were supposedly experts in the field and industry i'm in. I have an MBA from a top 5 school and another Masters and trust me, I was excited to join a consulting firm with a good rep. It is not what it is cracked up to be. I went into this with no expectations but after you've seen what I have, there is no wonder that the attrition rate at this firm along with many others is something over 25% every year. People get smart and move into other industries and functions.

Cons

Worst management teams in industry. Poor training, poor communications, no respect, no support, no accolades for good work. The hours are really long and the travel is really tough. I had clients coast to coast. If you think this is exciting like I did before, let me tell you it gets old really quick. In terms of career growth, you basically have to kiss a bunch of butt and take a lot of crap from horrible managers to move up. I saw some really talented, bright, and hard working managers get kicked out or go for years without promotion because they did not go through the political BS.

Pros

The best reasons to work at Deloitte include the fact that people who work there are talented and easy to get along with. There are also promotions annually and if you perform well you will be allowed to take on many responsibilities.

Cons

The downsides of working for Deloitte are the long hours and the fact that some projects are not planned well enough from the beginning. There is a focus on staying busy and working quickly while there is not enough focus on planning.
