Pros

It's situated in calm and peaceful Cary, NC Bonus ( If you are are good in internal bureaucracy and manage to get it!)

Cons

In over 15 years of my IT career I have never seen such bad work atmosphere with so much panic and work pressure from chain of managers over you. Everybody is president , vice presidents and managers.. too less people who really work.. so of course work pressure... That's what managers are for right? Make tech slave labor work. or how else managers will get big bonuses? Their new policy is to lure tech guys from other countries or other states to leave their good jobs dreaming big bonuses and peaceful life , come to this remote location of Cary...then make them work like slaves. Hire one senior tech guy and then hire four beginners so that this experienced guy will actually teach the beginners everything and even DO their job... as they are "no-vice".. so make sure you are not that "experienced guy" This is not a bank. It's a bank's IT development center. So basically we develop applications for bank. So it works like a IT shop with all the crap that comes with it.... Every body ready to cut your throat to get anybody out of his bonus way. Everybody looks like in pressure and panic state. If you are looking for great work atmosphere and peaceful life where you can work and do some innovative work then DON'T come to this Cary Development Center. Only join this center , if you just want good pay and bonuses...but you should be ready to take this much stress, panic , and ready to be micro managed by omnipresent managers.

Pros

Some good people, if you get the right kind of boss you can work on a pet project for a while and then quit before anyone notices you haven't delivered anything really usable.

Cons

so, so many - most of the MDs and Ds here would absolutely not be hired at any other bank because they have zero skills, so they're clinging on until they go down with the ship.

Pros

It was said that you don't have to love your company but most people do leave the work because of the management. Well in this company that is very fundamental that you may or may not enjoy the work you get but 50% of management has bad attitude. Most original people was brought in and still there because they were hired without any experience in IT/Finance/ or project management just to fill seats. Many people got pink slips in past because they raise voices, asked for better work, and if they don't able to fire them then provide a bad review so employee need to leave the company. Unfortunately, even when user tries to find another job within the VPs will not provide good review and will not bother to help you.

Cons

This is the place you will learn how to play politics staying among people who are not capable of running the groups but by chance they got VP and director titles. You will have to do lot of buttering to VPs in order to survive in this place otherwise just doing your job good will not take you anywhere. VPs are not able to share or i should say they are not capable of providing the team goal, what value proposition they want to do deliver each year. Uneducated VPs who came from old school like nortel and some brought from London do not share good feedback and make one of their assistant from the team, praise them only and keep other members under them. These VPs are not able to run self organize teams, they don't know how to motivate teams, how to find impediments and remove them, very ego rustic people work in this location. If i have option i will work elsewhere
