Disconnect between upper management and middle managers

There are many opportunities for changing locations and changing your role. The culture is not as cutthroat as some other banks.

Cons

There is a disconnect between upper management and middle managers, where upper management is trying to push large initiatives forward just for their own benefit without taking a notice of how this affects managers below them and ultimately the banks performance.

In the right team and setting, DB is likely a good part to work...still to be proven for me though

Cons

Too political, back-stabbing and anti-meritocratic environment for anyone in their right mind to like and thrive in. Promotion and compensation seems to be more linked to how close you are to top management than any real ability to provide value to the business. Without there are some good and talented people in there, but in my experience their positive contribution was outweighed by the incompetence and ill will too many other. As you can hear I am less than impressed by DB compared to other Int'l banks I have been with.
