Pros

There are a lot of good, smart people working at DB. Interesting deals and structures being done. Still a great name to have on your resume.

Cons

There is an overall culture of bowing down to senior management, like they're kings and queens. Nobody is willing to push back. The ranks of senior management change constantly, and with each change comes a new host of friends and cronies from other financial institutions, each one with their own visions and ideas. No single restructuring or idea is given enough time to gestate to see if it will even right the ship. Before long, the person behind it leaves or is fired / laid off, and then the process starts again. Compensation is a nightmare - get a multi-year guarantee or be prepared to get zeroed out when the bank determines it needs cash more than you do.

Pros

Salary, vacation and other benefits.

Cons

In my 15 years of IT career, I did not work in such a negative and highly political environment. The "power" is concentrated in NY and London and the people who are working there for ages do not want you to succeed. The so called architects or managers do not have idea about the current technologies and are not open to any new idea/suggestion and feel threatened, Most of the managers in NY really treat really bad, yes this is true. The same goes with their preferred vendor who's not ready to share knowledge and would treat you like an enemy... The recruiters may promise you many things like green card processing/perks/work from home etc and after joining the company you'd get a shock !.. most of the recruiters are contractors who use companies email id and give you impression that he/she is from HR, do not fall for it. I know at least 4-5 people who left the company in first 3-6 months that speak about the culture and environment which is very political.

Pros

The bank cares for its employees, which can be seen by the policies implemented for employee benefit. The environment is chilled out and you arnt scorned for asking any obvious questions. Transport facility saves travel stress and conveyance. Salary is above average compared to local competitors.

Cons

The company being top heavy, one needs to have patience to get promotions. 2 years is average tenure after which you get promoted. Less visibility of how your work helps the company's top line or bottom line , thus affecting your motivation to work.
