Pros

Salary is pretty good in Hungary. There are some better options there but they often come with a price that make it not worthwhile. Great work-life balance. While I had to put in some extra hours every now and then (couple days per year) I have yet to have a weekend where I am expected to work There are a lot good professionels and some really bright minds working here who you can learn from a lot. Friendly atmosphere. Colleagues are usually nice people with the occasional weirdos that are so common in the IT field. Flexible and easygoing, focusing on what is important instead of stupid restrictions and rules. For example you are expected to do your job, and if you do, nobody really cares about when you arrive or leave the office or if you spend some time on coffee breaks or just browsing the net. There are several internal trainings available. Some good initiatives started e.g. programs supporting you to reach the next level. Diverse projects & clients (both technological and domainwise), ability to move on and do something different without the need to change employer (though also see cons on this) Company is constantly growing, so you don't have to worry about your job and also you have great opportunities to move forward.

Cons

The different projects can mean different expectations and conditions. While what I write in this review is true overall, but if you end up on a "bad" project, some of the above pros might not apply (e.g. work-life balance, flexibility) and/or get some added cons (like stucking with some old and painful technologies). Also while there is a real effort to support mobility betwwen projects and put everybody where they are comfortable it is hardly manageable when everbody wants to leave a certain project. Work environment is mediocre at best: while comptuers ar ok, you have to work in a big and somewhat crowded open office space with a crappy air-conditioneer, close to no sunlight, etc. Coffee-spots and leisure room are too little and few to accomodate so many people, meeting rooms are dark and uninspiring. As mentioned earlier EPAM is growing rapidly and that also comes with some drawbacks. It lost some of its former people-friendly attitude moving towards a direction where you are just another nameless employee. Nothing too serious this far but it's a little alarming. Also because of the rising demand in hiring standards are lowered somewhat. Very limited possibility to work from home, if that is something you care for.

Pros

There are a lot of internal communities and trainings for professional development. Company organizes the internal conferences to leverage knowledge among different locations/departments/projects.

Cons

There are several offices with great central location. However the head office is located quite far from any bus/metro stops. Employee transfer arranged only for winter months. All other rainy cold days you have to walk for 20 minutes for the nearest metro station.
