Pros

Real responsibilities - manager give you the freedom to run jobs People are friendly and working environment is generally pretty nice Lots of other opportunities outside own division if you are good at network yourself

Cons

Relatively long hours for audit and sometime can feel understaffed Resource coordinator / HR people sometimes not very helpful and can be defensive Internal mobilities limited during last couple of years (tough times) unwilling to support people from audit to go on secondment

Pros

Strong company culture. Work is much more enjoyable when the people you're working with are pleasant to be around. I've never had an engagement team that I didn't enjoy.

Cons

Employees who happen to have a client whose year-end isn't Dec 31 work 55+ hours during times of the year when peers are working 40 hour weeks. Then, when busy season comes around, those employees who have already put in several 55 hour weeks are still expected to work 55 hours during busy season. This can really start to wear on some employees, prompting them to leave the company sooner than they otherwise would. This "con" is true of all the Big 4 firms.
