Pros

Great experience working with talented people and top clients; Dealing with cutting-edge client issues; great company support infrastructure; generally good culture of teaming and respect.

Cons

Very demanding; must be willing to personally commit 50-60 hrs per week to succeed; can be political at senior levels and will not always get straight answers from leaders

Pros

This is an excellent place to develop skills and knowledge, but the expectations of staff seem very unreasonable and the time off is not really worth the hard work you need to put in. I would reccomend people to work here to start their career, but maybe not stay long

Cons

bad vacation and lower pay than regional accounting firms.

Pros

The pros of working for Ernst & Young or any Big 4 are the opportunities to see a variety of projects and make contacts with upper level management at other companies/clients. The other pro is there is a certain reputation that goes with working for a big 4 that makes one very marketable for when the day comes they want to seek employment else where.

Cons

The cons of working for a Big 4 company is that the compensation is relatively low relative to the hours worked. You are also rarely treated like an individual and more like just another "number". Although to be fair the same could probably be said about most larger companies. There is also a lot bureaucracy and a certain hierarchy where the lower level positions are treated almost as slaves or indentured servants.
