      Headed in the right direction

      Pros

      After a painful merger, and weeding out underperformers, this company is moving in the right direction. Most new hires are competent, intelligent, and good to work with, as are many of the remaining employees. With a full suite of products to support higher education, there is a place in the company for anyone who wants to build, sell, and support great software.

      Cons

      Old guard is not completely gone yet, and is still pretty strong in some areas. Benefits are below average for a tech company.

      Pros

      I get to work remotely, which is helpful to keep out distractions.

      Cons

      Inexperienced management, cronyism, high turnover. Management doesn't really seem to value talent or intelligence. They want drones. The performance management process isn't taken seriously at all.
