We agree with you on the issue of working pressure. While there will be ebbs and flows in the work environment, we always want our engineering leaders to take the pressure while the team has the right environment to perform. An engineering leader is anyone who has people reporting to her/him.
You are also right in your observation that there have been changes in the appraisal process. We understand that it is painful when the expectations are not communicated in time. However, we want to continually make sure that our review processes (like goals & appraisals) are fair to our team members and make the organization stronger from within.
While we always try to communicate the changes well in advance, we will take feedback from other employees and if it resonates, we will definitely look into it
