Pros

The perks are great (fitness center, child care, cafeterias, nice building) and the company is very active in the community. They do toy and food drives at Christmas time and they don't do any United Way. The former CEO (Gary B.) was very upfront and communicated honestly to everyone. It has the potential of being a dream company. Salaries are good and, when combined with bonuses, are excellent.

Cons

Directors and above have no connection to the rank and file. All management is directed upward and they run scared of other departments. Don't plan on getting their support if you want to exceed in your job or introduce a new idea. The support will come in verbal head bobs and will be followed by absence when reviews and politics emerge. Strategy associated with anything other than product development does not exist. Operations is solely focused on meeting the needs of the hour or the tactics of this year's remaining budget. Measurement does not come from value to the company, rather it is based on how many errors were made in your area. Directors and above have a long tenure, limiting opportunity. Feeble attempt to implement the Jack Welch method of purging the non performing 10-20%. At review time, your annual score is determined by comparisons to others within your title/department and are not directly tied to your performance review.

Pros

Good benefits, hybrid work arrangement is flexible (you can choose your 3 days in office)

Cons

Tenure and friendship is valued more than actual skillsets. Many people in Ops have no formal college education or true technical skills, and have been complacent in the dept for 10+ years. This leads to inefficient and stale processes that are reluctant to change. The culture is extremely passive aggressive and long-tenured employees are not welcoming to new hires from outside of the organization. People will go out of their way to sabotage opportunities for those offering new perspectives with greater value add. This causes forced interactions with low value collaboration. Many in analytical roles do not even understand basic Microsoft Office skills, Excel functions, V/XLOOKUPS, etc. and data is often reviewed manually per line item… This company is run like a low budget mom and pop shop where inefficient and backwards practices are toxically in circulation.
