Pros
Worked with some of the smartest, hard-working people I'd ever met. I personally preferred the fast pace and pressure to perform. I had a good work/life balance, since my job allowed me to occasionally work from home. Work was demanding, but fulfilling. Pay was great. Stock bonuses even better.
Cons
I left Amazon for personal reasons, that I didn't really disclose to my direct manager. I gave my 2 weeks, and was off. Fast forward almost 2 years, and I find out I'm on the "not eligible for rehire" list. I had good performance reviews the 2 years I was there, so not sure what's causing it. Previous manager won't return my calls/texts and recruitment isn't a big help because they can't do anything with the rating as it stands. I actually liked working there and thought I did a decent job, but I must have said something wrong to my last manager (only managed me for 4 months) because he put me on this list. Now I can't get back in because of one person's opinion, that managed me for approx. 15% of the time I was there. I've done some research and found that there are several other stories similar to mine, even years after the fact. I get the hire fast, fire fast mentality to save time and effort, but there should be some type of exceptions. Especially for people that were never on any disciplinary action and received positive management reviews while employed.
