Pros
Great onboarding process that really helps to learn the ins-and-outs of the company and its culture and business processes prior to diving head first into project work. The D&I story here at Amazon is second to none. There is a good amount of work life harmony if you prioritize and focus on the work that matters and avoid distractions. The compensation is above standard for similar work at other companies.
Cons
There are a lot of ways to get distracted here through the various communities, trainings, competitions, tools, etc. Amazon has a high bar for promotions, but there are also fewer levels overall so a promo can be very rewarding here. The scale is massive and it can sometimes be challenging to find owners on certain things.
