Pros

-Hybrid work arrangements (although there is talk about coming back to the office 5 days a week) -Interesting clients

Cons

Unfortunately, almost the entire Health leadership team has turned over within the past 2 years and older workers are being targeted for lay-offs and replaced with the leader’s incompetent (and cheaper) friends from Cigna. Millions of dollars of sales credit has been steered to these people as a way to manipulate the performance system and drive out the organization’s most experienced consultants. I can’t tell you how many talented people have “retired early” or left for higher paying jobs —and more reasonable workloads— at Lockton, Mercer, WTW, and Alliant over the past 2.5 years. It’s a shame that this is happening and that HR has done nothing about it. I guess this speaks to how poorly the organization has been performing since the fallout of the WTW merger, and how desperate they are to “check a box” to improve their corporate image.

Pros

Great role to transition into the insurance industry. Many resources and opportunities to expand technical knowledge. Client visits are great if you like to travel. Lucky to have a manager who doesn’t micromanage. If you’re organized, driven, and good at communicating you’ll do great.

Cons

Can be stressful at times around busy renewal cycles. Travel often depending on industry and clients.
