Pros

Earned an opportunity to visit hospitals around the world. Exposed to and trained in numerous research methodologies along with marketing processes. Chartered projects had seemingly limitless budget funds to pursue needed activities, though it felt like overkill.

Cons

The matrix reporting structure takes time to adjust to and the downside is too many folks on the periphery can affect reviews. Frequent layoff's sadly often took out a few good people along with the under-performers. All of this lead to a culture of analysis paralysis where underlings and mid-level managers were afraid to make decisions; presentations to senior leadership outlining recommendations was often met with the same inaction.

Pros

There really aren't any. Incredibly toxic culture all the way down. BD used to be a great and supportive place to work but that is no more.

Cons

Very toxic culture. Management all the way down is either abusive or or flat out incompetent. We are told to essentially ignore our own code of conduct policies and ethics to the point where all qualified and competent performers have been run off by tyrant middle managers who can essentially do whatever they want or being saddled with the work of 3 people. You will not be valued here. The morale is at bottom and everyone is looking to leave the sinking ship.
