Pros
BD is a mature company with great quality products.
Cons
Working in the North American Supply Chain and Distribution department is a challenging experience due to several reasons. The turnover rate is high, and morale is low across the business. Decisions are made from the top-down without any input from site members. There is a lack of support and unreasonable deadlines. Incompetent individuals run the department, and people with no quality experience are promoted to oversee distribution centers. The previous leader was not effective and was moved to run special projects. The current leader has limited quality experience, and their decisions do not make sense. The operations leader manages by fear and is a bully, blaming and bullying everyone for incomplete projects. Promotions in Quality are hard to come by, and the recent restructuring only promoted high-level people, leaving no room for growth and development for engineers and specialists. Good performance reviews do not result in meaningful rewards or promotions, leaving employees feeling frustrated and overworked. The company's culture has deteriorated since Vince was CEO, and employees are no longer treated with respect or fairness. BD runs annual surveys that consistently show low scores, yet leadership is incompetent in changing the culture. Incompetent leaders provide meaningless presentations that ultimately result in no change. The company values outside employees more than loyal employees, and outsiders are paid more. The company is going downhill, and the current leadership is not competent enough to address any issues. I do not recommend joining the Supply Chain organization at BD.
