Pros

- I started as Junior Admin Assistant and have been trained well by amazing colleagues, some of them no longer works there. I can confidently say that I've grown significantly, skills-wise, during the duration of my employment. Also, other senior admins are available and approachable to ask for questions. - Great training/resources. Admin team put a lot of effort into making how-to resources - Fast-paced, I enjoy the busy setting - Decent benefits eg. insurance, subsidy for recreation - Decent technology. I've encountered minimal tech issues. Also easy & fast access for remote working. Not needing to bring work laptop home was great and can do work remotely without not much of lag if using personal computer. Able to work faster. They kept adapting. - The partners and managers that I worked for are great. They are respectful. - The right to personal life. Never have I ever felt the need to share my personal life which I appreciate. When requesting time off - I didn't have to say why or what for. - Great office location, great office

Cons

- Office drama have grown. It became so hard to steer clear of it. - Slow pay raise even with increase of workload & positive annual review

Pros

Compensation is OK. There are some really nice people in the organization to work with, but you have to find them.

Cons

If you are not part of the SWC "club" (company name prior to them joining BDO), good luck. Poor leadership!!! Practice lead talks to everyone like they are talking to a CEO, not relatable in most cases. No clear employee development plans. You are held accountable for things completely outside of your individual control. They stress incorporating AI into work strategy, but have no plan on what that looks like or how to do it and want everyone to formulate it because leadership has no roadmap. One has no control over where you want to take your career, yet you are expected to know everything, about everything. As a result, you become an expert of nothing! Work assigned rarely leverages skills, almost as if they throw darts to see who works on what.
