Pros
I loved that it was fast paced. I like that the benefits and ammenities are readily accesible, cafe's, onsite dental, gym, basketball, etc. I liked that everyone on my team was smart. The energy you picked up was positive, co workers were great! We had a great v.p. who paid for an offsite party out of his own pocket when the budget was cut. I like John Chambers. I had a customer email him and john actually forwarded the email to me....
Cons
WORK WORK WORK. I rememeber mentioning to a friend when I first started at Cisco how there was a dentist, gym, stores, cafe's onsite...and she said "yeah, they don't want you to leave your desk". I felt I was overloaded with work, and many times not given credit for my hard work. My manager would take it. It didn't bother me at first, but when I saw her getting promoted, and my team at a stand still, I finally woke up. You get bonuses here and there, but budget cuts every quarter start to get old, especially when you keep hearing how great the company is doing. My manager was always overwhelmed with work but still managed to come in late, leave early, while we came in early and left late. I didn't like that i was in 100 meetings a day, so i would go home and log on to do my work. WAY too many meetings.
