Pros

- Goldman Sachs has an immense brand value in the market. It adds value to your resume. - The employee benefits are above par. - Employee facilities like transport, medical facilities, child care etc are excellent. - Salary is decent.

Cons

- The bonus at GS is heavily decided by the senior management. If you are good at sycophancy, your bonus could be very high and if you believe that your work will pay off then beware. Zero bonus and zero increments are quite common in this organization. - This is not a place for nerds, all it matters is how much you show off (well it matters in most organizations but in GS that the ONLY thing that matters) - Off late GS has stopped subsidised food and cab facility. So be prepared to pay hefty amount for cabs and food at cafeteria - Everyone has only one goal - please the reporting manager. I was surprised to see how much they do to keep the senior manager happy. The severity of an issue is decided on the person's designation - The quality of work in Technology Division is bad. No scope for learning.

Pros

The firm encourages and supports to change teams, which is helpful in expanding experience or moving away if you aren't happy with your team

Cons

The promotion has become very opaque lately. They hardly give out promotions, but make you slog and overwork the whole year in the name of it. Basically, you have worked 200% and made to look like a fool by the end of the year.
