Pros

Travel benefit is pretty nice if you like to travel: $29 per night for a Hampton, 39-59 for an Embassy Suites or Hilton. Some properties are free if they are company owned. The company is private (for now). Blackstone now owns the company, so we're hoping for some cleanup to allow for advancement. Since Hilton acquired Hilton International, there is opportunity to travel overseas -- a lot depending on the group and your title. Once the dollar is stronger and travel really picks up again, there should be some really cool technologies to explore for development. They're currently reviewing the number of contractors we employ, so there may be more permanent openings

Cons

No real advancement. Very top-heavy, although some of the numbers are being trimmed by Blackstone offering severance packages and letting people go. Too many contractors -- employees are not given the opportunity to develop new technologies or learn the skill. There is a lot of dead weight in management -- people do not know the technology in IT management or have been promoted as a favor or to justify a raise and have no experience in their title. There have been people move from a management position in Human resources to assume a Director position in IT security and have not one day of development or pure IT experience.

Pros

Great staff and lowermanagement. Last general manager was unfriendly and not very helpful.

Cons

I was supposed to get long tenure status for lifetime friends of family with my veteran status. Worked at Hilton 9+ years. Supposed to get 1 year for my veteran status (according to the handbook at that time) which would make 10 years. HR supposedly turned in application in August 2024. I even followed up and was told they were working it. It's been almost 2 years and haven't heard anything yet. Very disappointed and dissatisfied. Guess I won't be staying at Hilton Hotels.
