Pros
Most of the locations are franchisee-owned, so there's some inconsistency to the way things are done. With that being said, HGI (like Hilton itself) are generally good hotels to be a part of.
Cons
Since most locations are franchisee-owned, wages are going to be low. There's generally high turnover as well since people get into hospitality thinking they want it, but they really don't want it. I used to call hospitality "higher-end retail" since you're basically doing customer service work, just in a different way from traditional retail. HGI, though, as a brand, works hard to develop a team focus, and to be honest, Hilton is one of the better companies for corporate support.
