Pros

There are a lot of things to love about Intuit. I've been there for over 5 years, and it's been a great experience. Lots of smart, motivated people, but they are also real people with lives outside of work. Except for the past few months, I've always felt that I could have great work-life balance...if I needed to leave early for one of my kids' games, no problem. I also like the fact that the company's products help to make a difference. Like many others at Intuit, I've been an entrepreneur, so it's very motivating to know that the products and services I'm working on can help small business owners save a little time so that they can do other things besides accounting. Lastly, I love the company's commitment to its values. "Integrity without compromise" and the commitment to doing right by our customers are values that get lived out.

Cons

One of the things that attracted me to Intuit was the work-life balance. Like many others at the company, I value a place that recognizes that employees have lives outside of work. That was true at Intuit, but the situation has gotten worse since the summer layoffs. The combination of fewer people on the team, the current economic environment, and a revolving door of senior managers on our business has resulted in over six months of non-stop crisis mode. We're burnt out and there's no end in sight. On the career side, it feels like you need an act of Congress to get promoted. The criteria for getting promoted is not clear, and the process lacks consistency and transparecy.

Pros

Benefits are amazing, medical insurance, vision and dental. Company match on 401K and volunteer time off.

Cons

They keep making decisions to outsource jobs to contract workers who don't share the same value in training or customer care. Oh they say they do but when you catch the listening to music so loud you can't hear the customer, or literally snoring on the line they can't do anything because of the way the contracts are set up. It is up to the contract company and the contract company just needs warm bodies. They did not even supply enough people doing our busiest season this year to co or the shifts that were required in the contract. So good luck with that. They will always eventually lay you off.
