Pros

Because software is Intuit's bread and butter, they respect and value their engineers and architects, unlike some other non-software companies. Although there is some drudgery, for the most part the work is interesting and there are opportunities to learn new things. It is a comfortable place to work and the stress level is lower than most other places I have worked. For instance, it is unusual to have to work evenings or weekends.

Cons

Sometimes the large company culture can be a little impersonal. The way each project is managed is really up to the individual managers, so your experience can be quite different, depending on what project you are on. Some are wonderful. Some are awful. There isn't a lot of bleeding edge work going on, if that is what you crave. In an effort to recruit new talent, sometimes they treat their interns better than their employees.

Pros

Benefits are amazing, medical insurance, vision and dental. Company match on 401K and volunteer time off.

Cons

They keep making decisions to outsource jobs to contract workers who don't share the same value in training or customer care. Oh they say they do but when you catch the listening to music so loud you can't hear the customer, or literally snoring on the line they can't do anything because of the way the contracts are set up. It is up to the contract company and the contract company just needs warm bodies. They did not even supply enough people doing our busiest season this year to co or the shifts that were required in the contract. So good luck with that. They will always eventually lay you off.
