Pros

I worked for Jabil for 20+ years and I must say I have learned a lot and had the opportunity to advance in my career. It is a great school for entry level employees as it provides clear career paths in different functions ranging from highly technical/engineering jobs to supporting functions such as supply chain management, planning and materials, quality, IT, Finance, etc. It is hard to highlight all the "Pros" but here are a few: - The CEO Mark Mondello is one of the most approachable executives in the company and he makes sure the company keeps moving towards the right direction while keeping its core values - Investment on professional development of its employees, with rich and frequently updated internal training programs - Good performance review process that is reinforced by top management. Every manager has their own way to approach it, and depending on the manager the priority will differ - Has a friendly and informal culture, promoting employee interaction, most managers are really approachable and treat people with respect - Hostile behavior is not tolerated and the culture in the company is that everyone's vote carries the same value, this is very important for the company's success at fostering communication at all levels - Some Director of Operations will make sure they speak personally with the employees and will take their suggestions seriously, even adding a suggestion box so employees feel more comfortable to share their thoughts if they choose to do it anonymously - Global footprint providing the possibility for international travel, assignments and relocation - Sponsorship for working visas and good relocation packages provided. Depending on the location and management team this may vary - Good benefit packages regarding to 401k match, ESPP, Medical and Dental, additional benefits such as pet insurance, life insurance and disability among others - Open door policy that allows employees to contact their management team directly and exchange ideas - Very focused on employee safety with internal programs to improve safety metrics globally and safety is a daily topic in every operational meeting, be on the shop floor or with the management team. Incidents from other factories are also presented so actions are taken to prevent the same problem to happen at the site - Started to focus on Diversity and Inclusion recently but always provided opportunity to all and is not tolerable of discrimination - Promotes cultural awareness through multi-cultural fairs and other programs for inclusivity in the work force - Factories are engaged on social initiatives and connect with the communities - My experience is mostly from the locations in Europe where I worked but in the Bay Area this still needs to improve - Has a great Continuous Improvement culture and most factories have a good motivational program - most factories because this is not a global standard and some do better than others on recognizing employees efforts. - Communicates the company direction to all employees and makes sure everyone understands what the strategy is - Results are communicated to the employees on a quarterly basis through all hands meetings - Employee complaints are taken seriously by upper management and issues are thoroughly investigated to achieve resolution - Company is moving towards the right direction of modernization and industry 4.0, investing on new technology and capabilities - Large portfolios of businesses in different industries sectors with possibility to move between business units or departments, providing employees with the possibility to exposure to different products and customers - Last but not least, the company has one of the best holiday parties I had the chance to witness, so yes + points! As a dynamic company Jabil has changed throughout the years, some management practices have improved and some did not but in overall it is a great place to work.

Cons

Jabil is a global company and due to that, even though the company principles are valid to all sites, there are differences between sites regarding how they are adopted and how employees are treated. - Work life balance is not addressed as an important topic and employees frequently work long hours to keep up with their workload (some managers take care of their team by creating a better work life balance culture but it's not wide spread) - Additional resources to help with critical tasks are rarely approved resulting on employees burn out - Employee survey results are not acted upon timely, the results and actions should be better communicated by the management to the employees - Benefits to promote health, fitness, and wellness are not provided by the site - every Jabil site approaches this differently depending on their top management team - Transportation is not provided to line operators. That is a practice in some countries but not in the bay area - Factories are ADA compliant but need to improve on internal program to incorporate differently able people to its workforce - from my experience perspective, Jabil Hungary has done a great job doing that - Onboarding process needs improvement, mostly for highly technical employees. Their successful integration depends on the manager to whom they will report to - Compensations most of the time do not match the level of work or job position. Sometimes employees accumulate job roles without salary increase - Salary increases are kept at the minimum of the 3% yearly merit increase - Bay Area case, other regions might offer better increases - Growing in the company does not mean equitable salary and there are gaps between managers in similar positions - No meals services or healthy snacks are provided or available to purchase Although these seem to be a long list of "Cons" I really think that if you are looking for developing yourself in a high demanding environment with exposure to different industries and technologies, Jabil is the right place.

Pros

Get paid if there is or isn't anything to do.

Cons

Rampant Nepotism and Cronyism. Un-qualified people in leadership postitions that have no idea what they are doing. DEI at its finest; hiring people from other countries that dont have american values or work ethic but hey the company met thier quota. Leadership bragging about how much money in the millions you made the company and how great that is for the company yet you get paid peanuts.
