Pros
- The people (individual contributors) are great. A lot of smart people who care about doing good work. - Great brand loyalty in the community, especially in the CA markets. - The pay and benefits are incredible, though this creates a golden handcuffs scenario. People are not retiring and why would they if they've been there 25+ years and pull in $250k/yr to work ~25-30 hrs a week? - It's a huge organization with a lot of opportunity to make/maintain meaningful connections across the org.
Cons
- A lot of reorgs that lead to high levels of distrust with leadership. Plan on a new org structure at least every 18 months, if not yearly. Be comfortable with ambiguity around roles, goals, responsibilities, and processes, all of which are needed to maximize for your bonus. - It's a culture of who knows who and being "seen". Try to be onsite as much as possible, even if it's a remote or hybrid role. - KP is moving a significant number of functions off shore (to India and Costa Rica). Pay close attention to what's being moved and have a solid plan for why your team/function shouldn't be included.
