Pros

Benefits are fairly decent although they are slowing chipping away at that...they already have from years ago- less vacation time now offered to new employees

Cons

Long work hours- sometimes required to stay for 13-14 hours. Clinic closes at 730p yet management expects you to continue to see pts through 8:15p. Then there are countless other duties to try to incorporate into your very hectic day as well... Negative negative management. No positive feedback ever from management. Management is a dictator type management...bad managers that feel threatened by strong nurse practitioners. Recent taking away of 1 hr of a PCT in the morning is terrible for business in general. The NP is required to come into a clinic where she may have 6=8 pts already waiting to be seen and no pt care technician to help sign these pts in. Patients repeatedly leave due to frustration- great way to conduct a business. TLC conducts a culture of hiring only young, attractive nurse practitioners- they discriminate against older workers and there is definitely no room for advancement in this corporation unless you kiss up to the manager, who is insecure and threatened by many of her Np's in the region. I would not advise coming to this place. It is a revolving door. They do not appreciate experience and they do not care about retention.

Pros

• Generally work with fantastic people. • Work is not difficult, and time flies when busy. • My bosses collaborated with me to create a schedule that worked, as I often had other commitments. • Overall, a pleasant work experience most days. Get good at what you do and you'll do fine.

Cons

• Some of the senior management was less friendly than others - as to be expected. • Days were very volatile; some could be extremely easy, and others could be a nightmare. • Scheduling was kept rather limited; although I was able to get the hours I wanted, often times management would look to cut hours from departments whenever possible, leaving less support.
