Pros

Hotel discounts, Benefits working with the latest IT technology out there.

Cons

If you asked me 5 years ago Marriott was a good place to work in the IT field. Now after a few years in this place you will start to see all the dirt that was being swept under the run. The pay scale that Marriott uses as an industry measurement is from the 50's. They will never be able to compete with other companies out there. Their motto is to bring in lower IT talent burn them out and once they realize they are worth more than they are currently being paid bring in another junior type IT person to repeat the process. Instead of Work/Life it’s Work/Work from 7 day 60 hour work weeks to Holiday mandatory work days. With the lack of talent in the groups if you’re a senior person with skill you’re going to get hammered with the workload that just increases and increases. With the heavy workload, low pay and political nonsense it can take years off your life.

Pros

Department is great! Hours are flexible with respect to workload. Career growth at the company is outstanding as long as you show dedication and commitment to the role.

Cons

"Full time" hourly employees face cuts during off seasons which makes the job posting information about full time hours unclear and is only addressed after the hiring process concludes during orientation and is not highlighted and often quickly discussed to stream light on the perks that do not calculate the negative impact on the factors left out after the fact.
