Pros

Working at Mc Donalds will allow you to get great experience with Customer Service. You will learn a huge menu!! So when you go somewhere esle it will be way easier. You learn how to work as a team with other crew members. You get a learn a little about everything....hadle money, make drinks(since their drink menu continues to grow), make desserts(since their dessert menu continues to grow). You get to experience how serving a customer is a top priority and you have to do it in a fast, accturate and friendly manner!! You get to learn how stock, organize and clean. You get to see how the managers manage their shifts whether they are good at it or not...you can take mental notes on what you would do in that situation. Mc Donalds is always busy so be prepared for continuous rushes.

Cons

I'm sure this goes for every food restauraunt...Customers will be rude and picky!!! Especially fast food...they expect everything to be fresh and fast...but thats not always the case due to certain reasons. They will yell at you and treat you like your nothing. As for the Managers, they need to treat employees with more respect. They dont praise you for your hard work as often as needed. Managers all have a different way of running things so new employees get confused. The closing do suck because there are less exmployess but not to bad if your willing to work hard.

Pros

Experience varies heavily depending on the owner/operator you work for. Free and discounted food. 2 weeks PTO. Vision, Dental and Health insurance. Offers rapid development opportunities.

Cons

Work-life balance is nonexistent. In fact, the director of operations has stated numerous times, “Work life balance is a myth”. The company states you are required to work 45 hrs/week minimum; Realistically, GM’s can expect to work 55-60 hours in store with constant calls and messages when home. The company does not count any work done outside of the restaurant toward your 45hr requirement. There is no training for this position as you are expected to figure it out on the job. They offer $2000 per month performance bonus but are always finding new ways to disqualify you and move the goalposts when you actually earn it.
