Pros
Solid company, predictable. Pay, benefits, review process and time off were commensurate with similar large companies. To the extent that the original culture (before MetLife purchased) remained intact it was a fulfilling place to work. Most changes brought by MetLife were net destructive to morale and to the bottom line.
Cons
There were a lot of committed, talented people at First Horizon. Employee morale was clearly important and innovation was supported. With the MetLife purchase, innovation was stifled tremendously and poor management decisions could not be corrected with employee feedback or input. It was like trying to stop a freight train. I saw lots of money spent injudiciously for bad outcomes.
