Pros

Good, above market salaries and benefits. Working with smart people that want to make a difference and disrupt the industry

Cons

Leadership team is highly misaligned and out of touch with hotel owners and industry, they don´t care about service quality or experience but only about signing and charging 20%+ fees with little value add to owners, claiming to be a tech company, when there is minimal tech that justifies this. Company changes strategy very often (every month) and with the poor communication across departments, creates lots of friction and issues between employees and hotel owners. It´s the "blind-leading-the-blind" strategy since it´s all trial and error continuously. The majority of the leadership team does not have any hospitality experience and tries to do their best, resulting in poor outcomes to owners and guests. Lots of cheap Oyo hotels are signed without considering quality of the location, the amenities, nor the guest experience but only damages the brand. An interesting observation: most Oyo employees would NOT stay in an Oyo Hotel due to the bad conditions and/or location. The low job security the company offers due to over-hiring and surreal targets to sign rooms within 90 days, plus the bad news released every week, makes it a toxic environment where employees feel very unstable. You don´t know when they will be firing you.

Pros

Plenty of opportunities to work on real-world machine learning problems, exposure to large-scale data, supportive colleagues, fast-paced culture that encourages growth and continuous learning.

Cons

Work-life balance can be challenging at times due to tight deadlines, rapid changes in priorities, and the need to adapt quickly in a high-pressure startup-like environment.
